Today, people across the United States will reflect, honor, and celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. -- father, husband, minister, civil rights leader, and champion for equality, justice, and human rights. This is a time for us all to reflect and remember Dr. King’s work in the fight for equal opportunity.

With the recent addition of pay equity laws impacting employers, we wanted to share some recent large financial settlements based on alleged pay discrimination. The following outlines conciliation agreements garnered by the Office of Federal Contracts Compliance Programs (OFCCP) as well as private actions.

Effective January 1, 2023, and impacts all employers with at least one employee working in California

Covered employers with more than four employees and is effective September 17, 2023

Several studies have suggested the benefits of measuring ESG performance to pay; however, reservations still exist

Lawsuit seeks to compel OFCCP to produce EEO-1 reports without considering contractor objections

Proposed changes are substantial and address all three AAPs regarding data submission relating to promotions, terminations, compensation, hiring policies and practices

Transgender Awareness week is annually observed from November 13, 2022 to November 19, 2022. During this time, transgender people and their allies bring attention to the community by educating the public about who transgender people are, sharing stories and experiences, and advancing advocacy to address the prejudice, discrimination, and violence that affect the transgender community. 

Company will pay $100,000 in exchange for a release of claims plus non-monetary relief.
