Wells Fargo Bank N.A. Settles OFCCP Hiring Discrimination Claims

Wells Fargo will pay $7.8 million to African American and female applicants

In their press release issued on August 24, 2020, OFCCP announced that Wells Fargo Bank N.A. pursued an early resolution conciliation agreement to address allegations of hiring discrimination. Wells Fargo has agreed to pay $7,800,000 in back wages and interest to 34,193 African American applicants who applied for banking, customer sales and services, and administrative support positions nationwide and to 308 female applicants for administrative support positions. The Bank will also provide 580 affected applicants with job opportunities as tellers, personal bankers, customer sales and service representatives, and administrative support positions. The agreement covers employees in retail bank branch AAPs and 42 FAAPs for 2020.
