OFCCP updates the VEVRAA Hiring Benchmark

OFCCP Updates the VEVRAA Hiring Benchmark to 5.7%

Effective 3/31/2020, the annual VEVRAA Benchmark is 5.7%. Federal contractors subject to VEVRAA should use the annual benchmark that is effective when the AAP year begins. Therefore, if the VEVRAA AAP plan date is April 1, 2010, then you should use 5.7% as the benchmark for the AAP.  The annual benchmark has been decreasing in each subsequent year since the first use in 2014 when it was 7.2%.

The data used to prepare the annual bench mark is developed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and can be found at https://www.bls.gov/cps/demographics.htm#vets. Federal contractors also have the option to calculate their own customized benchmark instead of using the annual benchmark. The OFCCP provides information on developing a custom benchmark which can be accessed at https://ofccp.dol-esa.gov/errd/VEVRAA.jsp.
