DOL Announces Plans to Mark a Century of Achievements by Working Women.

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) is celebrating the centennial anniversary of the Women’s Bureau—one of the Department’s longest-serving agencies having been established in 1920.

The theme of this yearlong celebration is “Our Purpose, Your Work.”

Since its establishment, the Women’s Bureau is the only federal agency focused exclusively on working women. And with unemployment for women at a generational low, the Bureau is taking this time to celebrate its many accomplishments while continuing its efforts to increase job opportunities for women

Throughout the centennial, the Bureau will gather testimonials focused on how the agency’s efforts have positively affected the lives of working women and their families. You can find these stories on the Women's Bureau webpage and on social media with the hashtag #WB100.

You, too, can share your story about what motivates you in your career and in your personal life. Join the Women’s Bureau in past reflection, appreciating the present, and paving the way for the future!
