OFCCP Chair Jenny Yang is leaving the DOL, taking a position at the White House, and will be temporarily replaced by Deputy Director Michele Hodge.

On March 31, 2023, current Office of Federal Contracts Compliance Programs (OFCCP) Chair Jenny Yang is leaving the Department of Labor (DOL). On April 3, 2023, Ms. Yang is taking a position as Deputy Assistant to the President on the White House Domestic Policy Council where she “will work on a broad range of issues, including equal opportunity in employment, criminal justice, democracy and voting, disability policy, Native Affairs, racial wealth gap, and many others.” Her notice comes less than two months after the Labor Secretary Marty Walsh departed for a position in the National Hockey League (NHL) players’ union.   

Jenny Yang has served as the Director of OFCCP since January 2021 and previously served as the first Asian American Chair for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in September 2014. During her tenure at OFCCP, Yang has implemented the following programs impacting government contractors:

Deputy Director Michele Hodge will serve as Acting Director, OFCCP.
